Nishanthan or 'Nish' is a Masters student working in the ring laser group. He has completed a 400 level research project in which he used spectroscopic analysis of the incoherent light from the Helium-Neon plasma of the the UG-2 to understand the effect of gas contamination on the laser. He is currently working on a thesis project which aims to convert the PR-1 ring laser from visable to near-IR operation.
